Black Amber Competition
To celebrate the launch of my Black Amber sculpture at the Chelsea Flower Show 2026, I’m giving away my first Maquette of Black Amber.
Anyone reading this can enter.
I have only made one other model and Black Amber who is now currently enjoying her new home in the garden by Melanie Hicks Garden for the Bat Conservation Society.
I put so much love and time into this first carving. She is carved from Hawthorn Wood, burnished with gold leaf highlights in her eyes.
The BLACK AMBER MAQUETTE
The maquette I am giving away is a scaled down version of the finished sculpture. The height of the maquette 30cm and it was made for the final RHS judging panel to view at Chelsea in July last year.
After making the maquette of Black Amber, I took her to Cornwall to ask for blessings and take pictures of her on the fairy path that leads up to a huge megalithic site on the moorlands of Penrith.
