I see these creatures as effigies of huge elemental land spirits. These beings are archetypal guardians of the ley lines that traverse and snake across the landscape, interconnecting and energising sacred sites across the earth. They live in the liminal realms but at twilight between the mist and sky they occasionally can be seen.
Ellyllon is one of Shapeshifting cunning folk or shaman that uses the form of the black Fox to dance his dreams into being.
Hawthorn is native to many countries in Europe. It has woven itself into the folklore and mythology of many cultures through the ages. This small thorny tree is often known as a fairy tree in Ireland. In Wales it was a Hawthorn tree in which Merlin the magician was said to have embedded and sleeps to this day. The British Isles are full of old Myths about Dragons, mermaids, witches and Giants.
Ellyllon is a celebration of Hawthorns magical nature the dark forms that manifest from this gnarly wood are interlaced with the mythical creatures that still walk the lands in the shadows and the liminal realms just beyond our perception.
Ellyllon is carved from a piece of sustainably sourced hawthorn wood. After carving the main body which includes hollowing or distressing areas that I would prefer do not crack. I then Burnished the carving with a selection of blowtorches and treat the wood with Danish oil.
This was carved to lay in the sleeping position. So can be laid on a table, shelf, etc. There is a fixing on the back for wall hanging.
This piece is initialed.
I will add an authentication document into the package.
The carving will either be sent in a hardened cardboard or plastic tube. If it is unsuitable shape for a tube I use hardened plastic boxes internally depending on the shape I will then create a styrofoam sub structure within the box. I use Royal Mail or ParcelForce for posting around the world. Its usually tracked and signed for, if available. Depending on the country I’m posting to.

Whispering Sun Is inspired by the stories of liberation. The explosion of one form into another.
Whispering Sun is carved from a several pieces of sustainably sourced hawthorn wood. After carving the main body including hollowing or distressing areas that I would prefer do not crack. It is then burnished with various blow torches and finally treated with rustins Danish oil.
The shards are carved individually and are interchangeable to how you want them to flow. They slot into the holes in the head. The shards will be packaged separately and included within the main package.
